Trois gels d’aloès après-soleil

Ce que cette page vous apporte: Si le gel d’aloès fait plus que procurer une sensation agréable, et ce que contient réellement chaque flacon.

La réponse courte

À essayer en premier

Equate Aloe Vera After Sun Gel

Is any of them more than a nice feeling?

Aloe evidence is mixed and formula-dependent: two small experimental-UV studies found no early benefit, while two 40-person studies found less redness, with one signal appearing only at 48 hours. The maintained sources do not identify any of these products as the tested preparation, and redness is not faster healing, pain relief, peeling prevention, or reversal of UV damage. Buy these for comfort and formulation preference, not a proven repair winner.

Ce qui correspond

All three are aloe-first cooling gels marketed for after-sun use.

Ce qui diffère

What else is in the bottle differs a lot: fragrance and dyes in the cheap one, tea-tree oil and dyes in the pricey one, six ingredients in the middle one.

Limite des preuves

Evidence on this page supports the ingredient, product type, or prevention step. It doesn't prove any one of these exact products is better.

Ce que les études ont réellement trouvé

The maintained ClinicalTrials.gov and PubMed searches identified no study testing any of these three gels. Four experimental-UV studies tested other aloe preparations and produced mixed, formula-dependent redness results; a separate raw-material study adds hydration and allergy context but is not a finished-product test.

Our search found no study of this exact product

Equate Aloe Vera After Sun Gel

The maintained ClinicalTrials.gov and PubMed searches returned no record naming this gel. At ingredient level, the study that asked whether aloe prevents a burn found it does not: 20 volunteers had a 70% aloe vera cream applied 30 minutes before UVB, immediately after, or both, in a randomized double-blind design, and the authors reported no sunburn or suntan protection, no benefit over placebo in treating sunburn, and no bleaching effect.

Réserve : Redness was graded by eye on a four-point scale in 20 people, which is a weak way to detect a small effect.

Our search found no study of this exact product

Aloderma 99% Organic Aloe Vera Gel

The maintained Aloderma name search returned no matching record in ClinicalTrials.gov or PubMed. The study that asked whether aloe calms a burn already made was positive: 40 volunteers with skin types II and III had their backs irradiated at 1.5 times the minimal erythema dose, then treated under occlusion for two days in a randomized double-blind placebo-controlled design, and a 97.5% aloe vera gel significantly reduced redness at 48 hours — more than 1% hydrocortisone in gel, less than 1% hydrocortisone in cream.

Réserve : The gel in that study was 97.5% aloe and this one is labeled 99%, but a similar number on the label is not a shared result: the two differ in vehicle, preservatives and everything else, and the tested gel was applied under occlusion, which changes how much gets in.

Our search found no study of this exact product

Sun Bum Cool Down Gel

The maintained ClinicalTrials.gov and PubMed searches found no study of how well this gel works. At aloe-class level, four experimental-UV studies found mixed redness results across fresh gel, a 70% cream, a 97.5% formulated gel, and another plant-extract formulation. None used the current Sun Bum formula.

Réserve : Mixed class-level redness findings do not establish faster healing, pain relief, less peeling, repaired UV damage, or an effect of this finished product.

Exact-product searches were checked through August 20, 2026, and additional evidence was reviewed through August 25. Four experimental-UV studies produced mixed results across different aloe preparations, endpoints, and application methods. The maintained records do not identify these three gels as interventions or compare them, and raw-aloe hydration or allergy observations cannot be transferred into a finished-product incidence estimate. Concentration on the label does not carry a result across formulas.

Comment nous avons cherché des études sur ces produits précis

Dernière recherche :

Dernier examen des résultats :

For each evidence row, search the quoted evidence-row product name, then the quoted brand plus the distinctive product-name tokens. A brand-wide statement additionally requires a quoted brand-name search. Formula codes are added only when an official or study source discloses them.

  • ClinicalTrials.gov: Registered studies returned by exact product-name, brand-plus-product-name, and disclosed internal formula-code searches.
  • PubMed: Indexed records returned by exact product-name and brand-plus-distinctive-product-token searches.

Ce que cela ne vous dit pas : A negative maintained search is a dated coverage statement, not proof that no study exists in another database, language, registry, sponsor archive, unpublished report, or differently named formula.

Notes et sources
  1. Four experimental-UV studies point in different directions. Fresh aloe gel in 12 people and a 70% aloe cream in 20 people were null at early endpoints; two 40-person studies reported less redness, with the 97.5% formulated gel null at 24 hours and positive at 48 hours. The maintained records do not name Equate, Aloderma, or Sun Bum as an intervention. The positive 97.5% gel was a different multi-ingredient formula applied under occlusion, and redness is not a measure of healing, pain, peeling, or repaired UV damage.
  2. Separate raw-aloe hydration and tolerability studies found no statistically significant single-use hydration advantage over water and a dehydrating effect after repeated use. Two volunteers withdrew with severe allergic reactions and mild reactions were also reported. These raw materials were not the finished after-sun products here, so the study cannot estimate their allergy rates or recovery effects.
  3. The Equate gel's record is the weakest on this page: its price was captured from a Walmart search listing (the product page sat behind a bot check), its size from a delivery service, and its ingredient list from outside ingredient websites that show fragrance, two dyes, and formaldehyde-releasing preservatives. Check the bottle before using it on broken skin.
  4. The Sun Bum price is its $16.99 regular; a $12.74 clearance price was showing when checked. Aloderma's 300 g unit cost is kept separate from the two mL unit costs because no product density was available.
  5. Sunscreen, shade, and clothing prevent the burn these gels soothe — see the sun-damage guide.
  6. ClinicalTrials.gov and PubMed searches through Aug 20, 2026 identified no head-to-head study of these exact products.
