Trois nettoyants doux pour le visage

Ce que cette page vous apporte: Si le nettoyant bon marché suffit, et ce que l’écart de prix achète réellement.

La réponse courte

À essayer en premier

Equate Gentle Skin Cleanser

Is the cheap one good enough?

The maintained ClinicalTrials.gov and PubMed searches through Aug 20, 2026 identified no independent comparison of these gentle cleansers, and their chemistry is similar. Price is the honest difference: the Equate works out to just over a fifth of the La Roche-Posay per millilitre. We've used the CeraVe daily for five years — the mid-price one that publishes its full ingredient list.

Ce qui correspond

All three are non-foaming gentle cleansers for normal-to-dry or sensitive skin; two are sold as fragrance-free, and the third's ingredient list isn't published.

Ce qui diffère

Price per millilitre spans about 4.6×; only two publish full ingredient lists.

Limite des preuves

Evidence on this page supports the ingredient, product type, or prevention step. It doesn't prove any one of these exact products is better.

Ce que les études ont réellement trouvé

These three cleansers span about 4.6x in price per millilitre, so the obvious question is whether the money buys evidence. One of the three has a registered study with results posted, and that study paired the cleanser with a cream rather than testing the cleanser on its own.

Our search found no study of this exact product

Equate Gentle Skin Cleanser

The maintained ClinicalTrials.gov and PubMed searches returned no test naming this cleanser or another Equate skincare product as of August 20, 2026. The brand name appears in PubMed only as a keyword on two NIH lactation-safety monographs — one on sunscreens, one on a topical anti-itch preparation — which are drug-safety reference records, not tests of whether anything works.

Réserve : Walmart doesn't publish the ingredient list either, so there is no label to check the product against.

Tested, but always paired with a cream

CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser

528 adults with diabetes-related skin changes used this cleanser and CeraVe Moisturizing Cream twice a day for 28 days. At day 33 the treating physicians rated 223 people very much improved, 224 much improved, 72 improved, 9 unchanged and none worse, and no side effects were recorded.

Réserve : One group, nothing to compare it against, nobody kept unaware of what they were using, improvement judged by a doctor, the cleanser was never used without the cream, and CeraVe was the study's only named partner.

~Our search found no study of this product; another in the same range was tested

La Roche-Posay Toleriane Caring Wash

The maintained ClinicalTrials.gov search returned no study naming this wash. The nearest is a 109-person study of Toleriane Ultra, a different product in the same line, run by La Roche-Posay's own Cosmetique Active International; NCT05487937 is marked completed and has never posted results. Of that sponsor's 55 registrations, three have posted results.

Réserve : A study of another product in the line says nothing about this wash, and its results were never posted.

Checked against ClinicalTrials.gov and PubMed on August 20, 2026; both index registered studies and published papers, so an in-house test that was never registered or published would not show up here. The maintained searches identified no comparison among these three cleansers, and the CeraVe study cannot separate the cleanser from the cream used with it.

Comment nous avons cherché des études sur ces produits précis

Dernière recherche :

For each evidence row, search the quoted evidence-row product name, then the quoted brand plus the distinctive product-name tokens. A brand-wide statement additionally requires a quoted brand-name search. Formula codes are added only when an official or study source discloses them.

  • ClinicalTrials.gov: Registered studies returned by exact product-name, brand-plus-product-name, and disclosed internal formula-code searches.
  • PubMed: Indexed records returned by exact product-name and brand-plus-distinctive-product-token searches.

Ce que cela ne vous dit pas : A negative maintained search is a dated coverage statement, not proof that no study exists in another database, language, registry, sponsor archive, unpublished report, or differently named formula.

Notes et sources
  1. The maintained ClinicalTrials.gov and PubMed searches through Aug 20, 2026 identified no independent head-to-head trial of these modern gentle cleansers. Older soap-versus-mild-cleanser research does not compare modern gentle cleansers with each other.
  2. CeraVe's Canadian sizes run 87–562 mL (the US 473 mL is not sold in Canada); the 562 mL bottle is the best per-mL price. La Roche-Posay's product is sold in Canada as "Toleriane Caring Wash" — the Canadian name of the Toleriane Hydrating Gentle Cleanser; its largest Canadian size is 200 mL.
  3. The Equate bottle's ingredient list is not published on its listing, so its fragrance status is unverified — check the bottle. The CeraVe and La Roche-Posay lists were checked on the brands' own pages.
  4. All three are cosmetics: no Health Canada licence applies. Prices seen Aug 20, 2026 at the named retailers; none was flagged as a sale.
  5. ClinicalTrials.gov and PubMed searches through Aug 20, 2026 identified no head-to-head study of these exact products.
